The Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) is a leading policy and research organization committed to advancing Bangladesh’s economic development through a strong, competitive, and dynamic private sector. Guided by its vision of seeing Bangladesh emerge as a self-reliant economic powerhouse, BEI works to ensure that the country is well integrated with the regional economy and the global marketplace. BEI’s mission focuses on fostering an enabling environment in which private enterprises can deliver and sustain robust economic growth. The Institute firmly believes that a vibrant private sector is the cornerstone of national prosperity, employment generation, and inclusive development. To achieve this, BEI actively engages with policymakers, business leaders, civil society, and development partners across the country, giving it a broad reach throughout Bangladesh.

Private sector development remains at the heart of BEI’s work. The Institute continues to enhance the organizational performance and competitiveness of businesses by advocating regulatory reforms, improved infrastructure, and an investment climate conducive to enterprise growth. Through relentless policy dialogue and research, BEI seeks to influence frameworks that encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, and long-term investment.

In addition to economic policy, BEI works extensively on civic engagement, promoting informed public dialogue and greater participation in policy processes. It also addresses foreign policy and security affairs, recognizing that economic progress is closely linked to national and regional stability. BEI’s work on regional trade and cooperation emphasizes the importance of stronger economic ties within South Asia and beyond. Governance is another key area of focus, with BEI advocating transparency, accountability, and effective institutions as essential foundations for sustainable development. Through research, advocacy, and nationwide engagement, the Bangladesh Enterprise Institute continues to play a vital role in shaping policies that support economic growth, stability, and prosperity for the people of Bangladesh.
